miracles

they happen all the time

sometimes before your eyes,

or behind your back.

the neurosurgeon on the radio,

once an atheist,

nearly died,

saw God,

and

changed.

having worked with a variety of

neurosurgeons

the only one who could change their mind

would be God,

and it would be a 

miracle.

in icu, doctors would sometimes talk in odds, chances.

the loved ones craved this

nurses cringed

when your number is up you cross over,

no doctor can hold you back.

when someone got better after a certain death,

we saw people call it a miracle.
