Friday Night Musik and Meela Update

Meela is home on palliative, comfort care. She loves living here like we do.

We spent a lot of porch sitting time together.

She is eating a little, drinking fluids and bowel and bladder working.

Very fatigued with self limited bursts of energy.

Keep your prayers coming. We feel a reassurance there is a higher power at work πŸ™πŸΌ

As for My weekly Music Selection,

Feeling nostalgic for the life before we were all connected by airwaves.

Enjoy πŸ˜‰ Tgiff πŸ‘πŸΌ

Blues Excellence

Blues Excellence

The Blues

Main St. Edwardsville, Illinois
The Blue Note
Painted by My Mom, Betsy Gerdt
Then a small town
20 miles east of St. Louis.

Bear with me, I have to start at the beginning...

As we reconnected with the music of Levon Helm,

We wondered "What are these Midnight Rambles?"

Well the best way at the time was to get the DVD's
Of the rambles at LevonHelm.com

These are a great view of Levon's recording studio living room.
They were masterfully created and worth adding to your collection.

They also introduced us to some very talented musicians,
Good people
With an adoration of Levon
And People
And Music.

I particularly enjoyed the concert by

Alexis P Suter and her band.
They blew me away.
Every musician,
No holding back,
Full, forceful, gentle, kind.
Loving, Sadness, Living, suffering,
Powerful, Honest, and Vulnerable.
The Blues
Blues Excellence

So I recently received a notice that Alexis P Suter has been
Nominated for the Prestigious Koko Taylor award

So well deserved.
All musicians must make their own way to Memphis.
I want to share my feelings that musicians make the world a better place
So please...
Please help Alexis get to Memphis May 7th, 2015

A Friend's words

My friend Che posted a great song link (link is above).
Che posted as songs for the neuro appointment.

http://multiplesclerosisprincess.blogspot.com/2011/05/songs-for-neuro-appts.html

What a great post by Che!

Also the weather here crazy storms,
the worse lightning for New England,
I saw a bolt of lightning hit the ground a few hundred feet south of here.
No tornadoes but close.
Have to post when we can get on the phone line.
Blogger comments all messed up,
my friends,
I am reading and will have more zeit this weekend.
don't want to be misunderstood.......

Friend

She adopted a cat from us and always asked how we were.
I know that sentence might seem strange to some but not to me.

A friend is someone who cares as much, no actually more, about stray feral cats
than they do about empty things like money and power.

A friend looks at you with her piercing eyes, looking into your soul,
scouring the dark places,
Are you OK?

A friend is lost in a senseless moment of time,
taking away the opportunity to say goodbye, farewell,
or I love you
for being an animal lover,
lover of the poor,
downtrodden,
and sad in the world.

Never again in this material plane will I see her to say
goodbye,
farewell,
I love you,

Dana.

A Friend's words

A Friend's words came across the Atlantic Ocean and she just knows how to hit the spot.
Thanks, Herrad.
You are a great friend.
She quoted a man who I have yet to look up in this wonderful library of worldwide info.
Funny how words can hit the spot, have extraordinary meaning.
Especially when you feel someone knows you.

here it is:

Never be bullied into silence. Never allow yourself to be made a victim.

Accept no one's definition of your life; define yourself.

Harvey Fierstein

have a great day in your corner of the planet.
