aging, love,
work,
war, faith,
legacy,
patience,
history.

Aging

Is inevitable,

Unpreventable,

Incorrigible,

& sometimes

Elusive.

Do we travel in

Circles?

Like I am told,

By mystic shamans

Like my Mom.

To me,

Time like a parking garage,

Each level an age or era,

Hard to explain.

Aging,

Traveling in our concept of time,

Is it really any different

Whether 18 or 98?

My external observations

Of elders

May be deceptive once we

Start talking,

My efforts sometimes concentrated 

On not judging.

Walk in my shoes

They may tell you

Young one,

Someday they'll be you,

Hold their hand

Until they are done.
