Beth Hart...More YT Links from across the Pond

This Beth Hart link won
when I pondered what to post on one of the three shortest daylight days...
Well in the Northern hemisphere that is.
This tune had just what I needed,
Hope, Light and Beth Hart's Beautiful voice...

40th Anniversary Celebration | Events | Institute of Noetic Sciences

40th Anniversary Celebration | Events | Institute of Noetic Sciences

Thought I would put up this link
then Instantly,
the message will go around the world
not possible 40 years ago

Wonder how many might see it
and Leap
at the chance to be a part
of early space travel

Why did we not go back?

12.20.2012.  wanted to point out this is one of the three shortest daylight days in the northern hemisphere

I kept thinking about the shortest day.
Then, expanding my thinking, it was natural to see there were 2 days just a little longer on either
side of the shortest day

soon days will be longer...it will be welcome

Winter Solstice

It is the shortest daylight day and yet
it has been a weirdly mild winter so far in Vermont.
I wanted to post a photo of a crazy quilt I made but it simply cannot be captured (by me) on film.
Keeping up with friends blogs this week have had to take a back seat to candy making and
other Christmas planning or just relaxing from exhaustion without the sun to motivate me.
The shortest days only seem shorter because the sun goes down so early,
one yawns, one stirs some supper up and the cats curl up by the fire.
The dreams people are having seem more extreme, like my weird dreams about war and these weird tall spiked Prussian-like helmets. Google was no help on that one. I could not find a helmet quite as tall as the ones in my vivid dreams. The army on my front porch, taking Fred and I knew I was next. Sometimes I look at that front porch, oddly a pivotal point in many of my feelings about this place.
Hard to explain without you being there.
That is how dreams are.
Have a great shortest daylight day and enjoy the light as it slowly returns to re-energize.

Three Longest Days

Today is the second of the three longest daylight days for us in the Northern Hemisphere.
When I did a post of the Three Shortest Days, someone searched google for the three shortest days.
So, while I found it strange that I would do a post about some strange thought I had,
I found it even stranger that someone else thought something even similar.
We get a little daylight obsessed up here, are so light deprived in the winter.
So today being
The Longest Daylight Day
it is naturally special,
and a little sadness
leaks through
when we think
The light of day will get progressively shorter a tiny bit each day until December 20 something.
We managed to prepare a few more garden beds last night
and hope to plant some more before the next rainfall.
meanwhile,
Enjoy the Longest Day today
and try to hold that thought.
Summer begins today.

Three Shortest Days

Where we are at, The three shortest days by daytime length are today, tomorrow (winter solstice) and the day after tomorrow.
These three, once we get past them, are like a hurdle of darkness.
This morning, driving to work with threats of "ice fog" had me alert until I saw the pavement looked pretty good and the trees were all sparkly looking.
At some point I saw a light and wondered where the new light came from.
It was yellow like sodium vapor lights.
It was the sun on day one of these three shortest days. Guess it was
burning through the ice fog.
I have noticed where the sun rises and sets now, on these shortest days.
Now wonder it is cold.
Hard to believe what this place looks like 6 months from tomorrow.
Here on these shortest three days.
