Mom would love this link to multiple translations of The Rubiyat of Omar Khayyam.
Each translation a lesson.

Thanks to Mom for leading me to that pretty illustrated simple complicated book (4th version Fitzgerald).

Found an email she sent me with a quote in the year 2000.
by Omar Khayyam (Fitzgerald translation 4th)

I sent my soul into the invisible,
Some letter of that afterlife to spell.
And by and by my soul returned to me,
And answer'd, "I myself and Heaven and Hell."

Heven but the vision of fulfill'd desire,
And hell the shadow from a soul on fire,
Cast on the darkness into which ourselves,
So late emerged from, shall so soon expire.
