Ain't In It For My Health....available for purchase

Ain’t In It For My Health

A movie about Levon Helm,

And family, friends, music,

Cancer and lung disease,

Living and dying,

Loving and those things we cannot change.

Fred bought Levon’s movie on Amazon.

It was easy. You could even find it by going to
Levonhelm.com

We went to Levon’s house a few times for The Midnight Rambles.

They were, sequentially, the best experiences we have ever had.

So seeing the movie lent more of a wholeness to the memories.

We knew he was a genius, a musical wizard,

a dedicated drummer, singer, mandolin player, guitar player, composer,

director, actor, father, husband.

In this movie we saw his vulnerable side, his miraculous survival,

His illness, his demons, his dragons.

We saw his angels, his guardians.

We saw the people who helped him through the dark days,

The people who have kept his dream going.

This is a 5 out of 5 star movie.

I wanted to meet Mrs. Danko. She passed away last month, and her defeat recorded for me to see.

I want a sequel and interview with the people who sat so quietly letting Levon speak.

Like my Mom, who died last year too, people would sit and wait for what came out of his mouth.

They were waiting for the proclamation of revenge, or hate, or explanation.

Nothing.

Internalized, the bad things Levon, and my Mom had to suffer, will be the karmic nightmare of those who trespassed on them.

In the movie I saw the reflection of his sadness at losing 2 of his best friends,
Richard Manual and Rick Danko. The money they lost was a source of that pain but it was more than that. They had their faces stolen. It was painful to hear how Levon felt at times. It was very real and makes me respect him even more.
You must buy this movie and share a biographical sketch of a man who drummed his way into our hearts and we hear his beat every day...

Pennies add up

Pennies add up...

We learned early on, Pennies add up to dollars.

So when the Town minutes came out as taxes up to ? 52 ¢,
I was once again puzzled.
What was the big crisis  anyway?
Why is it up 8 ¢ since 2011?

As the selectboard decides they need more of my pennies,
they are going to persuade me to keep fighting
the truly draconian measures they use to squeeze your pennies out.

I am tired of fighting
and
I will not stop.
That's my 2 cents worth.

Crossroads

Crossroads

Right,

left or
Straight ahead.

One way better,
one worse,
Both anyone's best guess.

Not a crap shoot really,
There is a better path,
We hope that they will find it,
or suffer the aftermath.

The Crossroads give us options,
Right or left,
Backwards too,
Forward looking,
Can start anew.

We start another week of work
and peeks at fall,
colors here and there,
At the crossroads
hear them call.

Psalm Challenge 121

Psalm Challenge 121

Psalm 121

King James Version (KJV) by public domain

121 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.
He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.
Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.
The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand.
The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.
The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.
The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.

Monkton Chronicles 9.14,13

Monkton,Vermont 9.14.13

This week Addison County, Vermont
is at the crossroads.
One way,
Property owners are disregarded ,
Pipeline goes in,
Big Business shows its Power....
The pro pipeline people ironically are also the ones who don't want corporations to be
people.
They want to defeat peaceable landowners. Mind boggling.

Someone stole the anti frackin sign Jane left here.
My rage subsided,
such hateful people.

Garden pretty sad. Am In good company.

Fall is coming,
Colors early reds, some stress yellow leaves,
Goldenrod, Wild aster,
A rainbow of colors.
