Travelogue for the Universe: Rerun Psalm 101 & an Apple Year

For the last day of April, 2014

A Rerun of Psalm 101
Which led me to post a story called
An Apple Year.
The turbulent weather hitting people hard.
The challenges of life...

Rabbits & Robins & Waiting for Spring

Fred saw 3 rabbits up in the garden space,

They were scrounging and running around...good size.
We have seen a lot of Robins, Big big Robins,
Starlings already building, building,
Blackbirds of all kinds poking into the muddy hill
For worms that lived to be eaten.

I love hearing the birds in the spring,
Why not post a video I did for Mom of songbirds,
Specifically that hopeful spring tone, full of liquid sounds.
The Sea part of the video is for Levon who missed the concert
That we missed, hanging out and telling anyone who would listen that
We had been to Levon's barn/house/studio
And clearly Levon was the most disappointed person there that night.

Still waiting for true spring...
I call this movie,
Take a time out.

Random post, for fun,
Moonalice...ahh!
They have woven commercials and art together...

Local Radio. #Fracking calls?

Hard to compete with shows like WDEV has...
in the category of
Vermont local Radio,
Mark's show is one of my favorites.
He certainly has a liberal mindset and proudly declares his viewpoints.
Likewise, he is tough and complementary with his Comrades and opposing thinkers alike.

The gaz group posted an opportunity to call into the Gov, who has been a big gaz pipeline supporter.

Please be respectful if you choose to call...
likewise if you want to listen, look for WDEV, Waterbury...should be able tp stream it.

Spread the word. You have another chance to let him know in case he forgot. You should make an informed statement before you ask your question. Try to word your questions well.

The Sound

The Sound

Finally got the record player out of the box.
It was much easier to comprehend playing records than
Burning cd's although that is the next step.
The first record was Janis Joplin live (2 Records).
Like my instinct, I grabbed the top most side.
Random choice.
Half Moon the first tune.
Wow.
I listened to some more and then had Bob Dylan's greatest hits volume 2
Ready for Fred when he got home from work.
When I paint my masterpiece...ahhh.

The sounds, the words, came right back to me.
The records a little warped but you can't tell.
I love the sound of the needle dropping into the groove.
A new beginning, back to the future.

Travel warnings Vermont

Flooding in Vermont...

I saw a few photos and thought I would post the
Website gor Vermont weather

http://dmv.vermont.gov/safety/511roadconditions

Be careful traveling anywhere up in the North Country.
The snow pack is melting,
Warm temperatures
Ground still frozen
A boatload of rain today
The ice in Lake Champlain dropped.
Don't drive over questionable roads!
Be careful!

Tuesday Music Link....Forget about Tax day...Goin to California....Jason Bonham interview...

Jason Bonham....

A familiar tune,
Close your eyes,
Crank it up,
and
go back in time.
Years melt away,
I took a bus to California,
with about enough money for bus fare,
$68 I believe.
one way. I was meeting friends out there
and we were driving back.
(That's the summer I lived in Des Plaines, Il
with Kadi and her family.
I worked at the record warehouse (vinyl...).
1977, I had flunked out of engineering school
where we cranked Led Zeppelin on speakers we handed up from the 12th floor to the roof.

In a momentary dispair, I decided I would visit my sister,
see what California was about.
I went with another friend who went total California on me.
She had to have flowers in her hair as we crossed over at Lake Tahoe.
She shed her shoes and was wearing some gauzy blouse...
She kept singing this song.
Today as I heard it,
understanding the lyrics better,
I just knew it would be perfect for Tuesday.

Neurological Healing

Neurological Healing

Is possible,
Or at least a beginning,
A human adaptation,
Thanks to spinal cord, neurological research,
We humans are beginning to understand more each day.

Thanks to Christopher &  Dana Reeve
For daring to suggest

I worked on a neuro floor at the hospital.
We saw all kinds of injuries, insults, diseases, trauma
Genetic, toxic, bacterial, viral, unknown,
Sometimes having no disease but symptoms and very convincingly,
Confusing the doctors.

We always held out hope,
That things would be better,
Like Star Trek...
Stroke? MS? Brain injury?
Wave the healing wand.

Instead we often were holding the hands of patients & family.
Often sad, sometimes lonely, sometimes broken people.

For myself and those who fight Multiple Sclerosis,
We welcome neuro healing,
We embrace the Reeves and brave hard working researchers,

The news this week of men who were paralyzed,
Pioneers in research,
 fostering our hope
For neuro healing.

Futile

Futile Necessity

Fighting the pipeline,
Feels like
A futile necessity.

Futile,
Meaning an effort,
that
No Matter how much effort you expend,
You cannot truly affect.

Necessity,
Meaning a belief I have,
Which if the belief was
The other way around,
I couldn't live with myself.

So early on,
I watched
My mother's face,
Typing letters,
Lots of letters,
On a typewriter,
She typed So fast,
And never messed up.

She saved the Osprey with her
Futile necessity,
She fed a young African girl,
She fed us.

I see the world a lot like
She saw through her eyes
Or so I believe.

I still cannot believe people saying
Pipeline, pipeline...
Gotta have it...

No thought or a care in the world.
That smells.
Now futile or not,
This post must go up.

Also adding a video I did of the bridge at Crown Point.
The ferry was nice 2 take pictures from.

There was 3 feet of ice covering the lake this winter.
What if their imaginary pipeline was under all that?

Now what if Canadian gaz gets to run a pipeline
Under the lake?
They will keep going to NYC, that's what,
And they'll add power shuttles.

Bad idea all around.
Feeling my futility today. Meg

Gaz Dump

Am Finding,

Through no fault of my own,

Only the genetic predisposition to right the wrongs,

Learned by my parents, siblings, friends and all the teachers along my path of circles...

So my goal is to dump as much anti pipeline stuff as I can before 11:11 this morning...

Cleaning my mailbox periodically avoids the daily grind that robs my energy

aka energy suck.

Already I am extending the time.

Ok, make i 12:30...why affiliate it with the
 magical 11:11 anyway?

I want to dump it all here,
clean out a bazillion spams to find those gems like this EPA conference at Columbia Law school:

How many of you hip fracking fighters near NYC saw that one?
You might want to check out the fracking info.

For local Addison county, VT news, (tongue in cheek)
I regularly got to York County, Maine's only newspaper...

Thanks to Rising Tide & Vermont Digger
And the landowners/farmers of Monkton, Vermont, and Peter Galbraith...

http://vtdigger.org/2014/04/10/state-senator-joins-activists-statehouse-pancakes-pipeline/

This one really hits below the belt...
NY newspaper says yippee, International paper company of Ticonderoga, NY got some guys to say,
Yeah, Canadians, run a pipeline through pristine farmland where poor farmers live,
Then go under Lake Champlain,
once described as the 6th great lake by the presently conspicuously absent.

NY state?....Run it down your own side of the lake. Better yet, run liquid on rails...
Discard this article as totally useless:

http://www.pressrepublican.com/0100_news/x1445037767/Vt-board-supports-IP-gas-spur

OK, for those of you who really want to go deep...

The pipeline wanters haven't even got the environmental permits yet...
I told Fred, what if we strutted into the town office and said we were going to do something,
wait, I did that and was reprimanded.
and we didn't have the enviro permits..."Get out is all I would hear....

So re-focusing,
(do you see how hard it is when every day we are bombarded with new permits to contest,
weird foreign lawyer language, the corporations have all the rights, all the cards, foreign or local,
and oddly the environmental people are divided into common people like myself and this odd strata of elite extreme money saturated, no doubt...read on, and comment if you like...did you know every piece of water touches every other? This is big.)

Here is the Section 410 Water Quality Certification permit re-notice to go along with the storm-water re-notice

OK...Wake up!
There is more...
Essex, NY county likes the thought of a pipeline over the river and through the woods and under the lake, as long as it's nimby!
(NY likes International Paper in spite of the Odours du jour of a paper mill and untold pollution into our beloved lake...)

http://www.wcax.com/story/25196506/essex-county-board-endorses-vt-gas-pipeline-project

Link above from Channel 3 website...

Oh, and here is a pro gaz advertisement Story by the same channel. Oh and note that natural gaz can be transported by rail...and prices went through the roof last year
like maple steam rising from the sugar shack :<{

http://www.wcax.com/story/25172637/a-new-way-to-boil

That is all for today. I am fracking weary...
Do you see what we are fighting?

We want the Lake, the land to be intact,
We don't want no hydrofrack,
pipelines give me a heart attack,
don't let those nasty land agents come back,
I like to drink my water,
fresh and clear,
Don't want you pipeline,
Get out of here...

The Season of Lightning & Thunder

Lightning & Thunder...

Bloody exhausted from shuffling tax papers yesterday,
their getting a lot of money already
and all this hassle when I cannot do much else.
Energy suck. I am confident the next generation will abandon
some of this,
or will the idiocy of IRS laws live on and on...?

Wanted to post a link to my posts about Lightning ...
tis the season.

Be careful. I saw a fireball in Illinois once.
People in New England sometimes get complacent.
Today the air actually smelled warm,
that collides with that undulating cold air mass
over the north pole.

We need lightning,
it freshens the air and does things...I do not doubt.

Taxes, Taxes

Taxes

Taxes,
Tis the season indeed.

Sifting through the paper rubble of another year,
Would drive anyone to take some cheer.

Receipts and envelopes,
Second pages left blank,
Dead trees all around me,
Wasting paper, and my time.
It's taxes, why should any of it rhyme?

Privacy notices lie.
They gave up my stuff,
Now I have to tell them what they already know,
And pay taxes
I'm gruff

Psalm Challenge...150...the final

The final Psalm...

Psalm 150

Douay-Rheims 1899 American Edition (DRA)

150 Praise ye the Lord in his holy places: praise ye him in the firmament of his power.
Praise ye him for his mighty acts: praise ye him according to the multitude of his greatness.
Praise him with sound of trumpet: praise him with psaltery and harp.
Praise him with timbrel and choir: praise him with strings and organs.
Praise him on high sounding cymbals: praise him on cymbals of joy: let every spirit praise the Lord. Alleluia.
Douay-Rheims 1899 American Edition (DRA)by Public Domain

My notes: I joined the Psalm Challenge started by a German blogger who lives in Greece.
I read the entries, week after week.
From Israel, Canada, all over.
So midway I started studying each psalm.
Then I added my comments,
correlated,
never knew there were so many versions.
never knew bibles may have copyrights ? huh?
I became the only one after awhile which turned into my journey
the Psalms say so much about life,
Hardships, trials, despair, faith, triumph,
Finding the light
In the dark.

I heard this song yesterday on the radio live from NYC via wifi/dsl
44 years after Dr. Martin Luther King was assassinated,
and Sam Moore was singing his heart out
for a lost friend.
I wanted to see the video
and found it.

All last night and today I was fighting the html
finally able to post this yt link,
I liked when Rosanne Cash said her father read the Psalms.
Psalms, songs, music, lyrics,
harps,
angels,
voices
faith
praise,
hope,
love.

Magical Middlebury

middlebury is a magical place,

full of energies,
River, Commerce, Commodities,
Travel hub for the Western side of Vermont,
home of middlebury college.
i got to work in the town for a few years,
you feel the granite, slate, the bricks,
you smell the money.
The money smells clean, fresh,
smart people,
successful people,
wealthy people go to school here.
Ski, hockey, the Arts.
So it was shocking to me that the college would be so pro-Canadian gas pipeline.
You know, the one I rant about the land agents threatened elders and poor farmers
to gut/ no, to Gore their property for public good.
anyhow,
because the college is home to so many gifted students...the top of the top,
you know that leads many to a life of illumination,
imagination,
free reign, no brakes, full on satire...
The kind I loved in the 1970's with the Harvard Lampoon.
Those days were over,
or were they?
After our fracking fighting weary copatriots got and email this morning,
WTF was being heard shouted through the valley.
one after another logged on to dial up or satellite or some other way,
and opened this...

by Magical Middlebury College studentia...
Ah, to be young again.
<3 nbsp="">

So,
As I tried to post the
Wtf article
Was it a spoof?
Satire?
Well, adobe didn't make it easy
And Maybe they don't want me posting the best bit of humor
I have read in awhile.
I tried to find a link at their plaid & felt website.
And failed.

So trust me, it's funny.
I feel compelled to at least say something.

Still laughing
Or
Crying,
Later.

Mi'kmaq Women Shut Down Energy Minister Briefing

We sit at our computers,

protesting,
using words & bytes & testimony,
We claim rights to land
the town would just as soon give away
to fossil suckers,
frackers,
sucking the guts from our Mother Earth,
then running pipelines
through our neighbor's yard,
through the aquifer that gives us our drinking water,
the pristine countryside I fell in love with
so many years ago,
was not supposed to become slave to energy brokers,
Canadian (therefore not suspect...most Canadians are good people...)
No, I refer to the energy czars of Canada's monopolistic ownership.

Just had a dose of sunshine...fresh air.
This video I watched last night,
thankful the woman born of thunder
is drumming  to these
fossil suckers.

Spring Brings

Spring Brings

Sunlight & Shadows

birds migrating northward,
Insects buzzing groggily,
Mary Lou' s Bear
Waking from a winter's nap,
No back to the cave again.

The geese will honk
The smell of skunk,
The warm soft rain,
Finally welcome again.

The seasons change
This winter a bear,
Never underestimate Vermont winter,
Each one is cold & rare.

I don't care if this doesn't rhyme,
The Sunlight is reward enough,
It's been a long, long time.

I wanted to post this Tsunami warning.

Be safe,

Was it triggered by the solar flares?
